While deadlifts can’t be replaced in a powerlifting or strength program, utilizing the trap bar can be a great way to emphasize quad and flute development and to work on your form to transition into barbell deadlift. ➡️ Allows you to keep your back upright while forcing you to still start your pull from a lower position, which again will be especially helpful if your deadlift form isn’t quite right (like your back is sore after deads) you scrape the life out of your shins when you deadlift) ➡️ Keeps the bar away from your body, allowing you to pull straight up which is especially helpful if you don’t have a great deadlift form (i.e. ➡️ Is performed with a neutral grip at the sides instead of gripping the bar in front of you, making it more functional for certain movements (like picking up a suitcase) ➡️ Allows you to start more upright instead of in a forward lean, making the exercise more quad- and glute-dominant Compared to traditional deadlift, trap bar deadlift: Leg day!
